Act Fast to Protect
Video Transcribed: What are the next steps after reasonable suspicion has been met to remove children from a home? Hi, my name is Brian Glass. I’m a Chickasha lawyer and I’m discussing today the situation if a child is removed from a home due to the reasonable suspicion of either a DHS caseworker, a peace officer, or an officer of the court.
Once it’s done with pre-petition, the court then has seven days to file a petition in the court along with a summons explaining why the children are removed from the home and what the next steps of the parent award may be from there.
Within this petition, they will lay out all the allegations against the parent that would adjudicate them deprived, or that potentially could.
If you’ve recently been served with a summons or your children have been removed from your home, if you’d like to discuss your case further, you can reach out to me, an Oklahoma child custody attorney, and you can find me a chichelawyer.com.
